TASC | Turkish American National Steering Committee

Our focus is on public education and advocacy programs that support Turkish American civic empowerment and strong United States – Turkey relations. TASC includes Turkish American Community leaders, many of whom are also leaders in other Turkish American organizations. Individual and group participation in TASC is voluntary. TASC decisions do not bind other organizations in which TASC officers and directors may be active, unless such organizations agree to participate in a TASC program.

15 Temmuz’un 4.Yıldönümü

Türk Amerikan Yönlendirme Komitesi’nin (TASC)15 Temmuz’un 4.yıldönümünde bir dizi etkinlik yaptı. Dijital ilan kamyonları , araç konvoyu ve pankart taşıyan uçaklarla 15 Temmuz hain darbe girişimine dikkat çekildi. “15 Temmuz, Türk Demokrasisinin Zaferi” ve ”Türk Milletinin Zaferi” yazılı ilan kamyonları, New York’un Manhattan, Brooklyn ve Queens bölgelerinin en işlek caddeleriyle başkent Washington DC ve FETÖ’nün karargahının bulunduğu Pennsylvania’daki çiftlik etrafında gün boyu dolaştı. “Terörist FETÖ’yü durdurun” yazılı pankart taşıyan uçaklar ise aynı bölgelerde gün boyu uçuş yaptı.

Mission

TASC’s mission is to promote and amplify a united Turkish American voice on issues that affect the Turkish American community and United States-Turkish relations. TASC pools the resources of participating organizations for the common interests of the community. TASC coordinates the complementary capabilities of participating organizations.

Vision

TASC’s vision of Turkish American civic empowerment is based on solidarity within diversity, and open collaboration among community leaders and volunteers in support of your common goals and interests.

TASC Hosts Turkish Presidential Event, Starts off United Nations General Assembly Week

On June 10,  TASC hosted Alan R. Gall as part of our monthly Embassy Row Lecture Series at the Washington Turkish House. Mr. Gall is Author of To Save an Empire: A Novel of Ottoman History. Over 50 people joined us for his lecture and book signing.

TASC Hosts Turkish Presidential Event
Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan spoke before a full house at the beautiful 583 Park Avenue . Over 1,000 Turkish American and Muslim American community leaders from across the nation came to hear the Turkish President ahead of United Nations General Assembly meetings this week, in which Turkey will take an active role.
The New York Ataturk School Choir sang the Turkish National Anthem, The Ballad of Gallipoli, and patriotic Turkish song, “Memleketim – “My Country”. A prayer of world peace was offered by Turkish Imam Fatih Kanca of the Turkish American Community Center and Mosque of Lanham, Maryland.

TASC Co-Chair Gunay Evinch commended the broadening of Turkish American solidarity and respect for inter-Turk diversity, and encouraged productive integration into American society through civic empowerment, economic strength, and rich cultural exchange. Evinch remembered the accomplishments of the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA), the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), as well as today’s important work of the Diyanet Center of America, MUSIAD, TUSIAD, American Turkish Council (ATC) and Turkish American Business Council (DEIK) trade organizations.
