TASC Remembers Orrin Ford, Expresses Sympathies to Family and Turkish American Community

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you of the passing of another dear friend of all of us, Attorney Orrin Ford, who died on September 27, 2017. The Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC) expresses its condolences to his spouse, Peggy Ford, and the Turkish American Association of Alabama (TAAA).
Orrin was a true friend of the Turkish American community in the south. Orrin and his wife Peggy, initiated the “Spot Light on Turkey” program at the Birmingham International Center, which reached more than 10,000 elementary school students and teachers in poor rural areas of Alabama. Orrin initiated an Alabama State Resolution that passed unanimously commending the Turkish Republic. Orrin monitored and reported on the Fethullah Gulen Cult charter school programs in South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama, at a time when most did not realize that the cult movement, HIZMET, was actually HAZMAT for America. Orrin helped rehabilitate the reputation of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which had been mislead to publish a defamatory article about a Holocaust Survivor, Professor Guenter Lewy, who had published a book rejecting the Armenian allegation of genocide. Orrin was a quiet, hardworking man of honor.
TASC calls on the community to remember Orrin Ford by giving to the SPLC at https://donate.splcenter.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=463
TASC will provide admission tickets to the SPLC Civil Right Memorial Center to two Turkish American children in Montgomery, Alabama.
Respectfully,
