The Turkish American National Steering Committee
Mourns Following Terror Attacks in
Ankara Rush Hour Traffic
The Turkish American National Steering Committee (TANSC) condemns the terrorist attack that killed 28 and wounded over 60 others in rush hour traffic near the Naval Command and Turkish Parliament buildings in the capital city of Ankara earlier today. Of the killed, 20 were civilian military personnel, mostly secretaries, office managers, and cafeteria workers on public buses. Eight of the killed and 61 injured were pedestrians. Almost simultaneously, a Turkish military personnel carrier was attacked in Diyarbakir, killing six and wounding one passenger. TANSC expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Turkey, and urges global empathy and solidarity against international terrorism, and firm response to the PYD-PYG-PKK terror trio who are supporting the brutal regime of Syria’s Assad under the pretext of fighting ISIS.
