“Please devote at least a few minutes to read this email of an old woman, who was widowed at a very young age and bereaved of love and affection. It has been more than forty years since I lost my husband to the barbarity of hatred. I believe I will carry this trauma until the end of my life.”

The California Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) approved the release of Armenian Justice Commandos terrorist Hampig Sassounian, who is serving a life sentence for the assassination of Turkish Consul General to Los Angeles, Kemal Arikan. The decision was made in mid March without notice to the victim’s family, victim state Turkish Republic, United States Department of Justice, United States Department of State, and the FBI.
California Governor Jerry Brown has less than 30 days to reverse the decision of BPH. The United States Department of State and Department of Justice sent a joint letter opposing the release of Sassounian because it is in the interest of the United States not to contradict its own security policy of keeping terrorists behind bars for life.
